Tom, an ex-pat Brit (with the accent to prove it), has more than a decade of experience as a filmmaker. Tom is Long Haul Films' chief cinematographer and editor with a passion for visual storytelling developed at the University of York, where he founded the University of York Filmmaking Society, and a Master's program in Feature Film at the prestigious Goldsmiths College, London. When not making films (which is very rare) Tom can be found playing piano, guitar, drums and ukulele or keeping up with his beloved Bury Football Club (no, they're not in the Premier League).
Melissa is the conceptual force behind Long Haul Films, working closely with clients to set the creative direction and ensure flawless production. A Boston native, Melissa spent ten years working in international advertising in London, Europe and the Middle East, where she developed a passion for building collaborative client relationships, and never managed to pick up a decent British accent. After meeting Tom, Melissa decided to turn her love for documentary films and her training in journalism into a new career in filmmaking. When not making films (which is very rare) Melissa can be found riding her pink bike around the city, trying to catch up with all the blogs in her Google reader, or taking pictures with her Lomo cameras.
Tom & Melissa are also noted marriage bloggers and are making a documentary about the meaning of modern marriage, The Long Haul Project.
